The Japanese tea ceremony is called in Japanese Chanoyu, Sado or simply Ocha. It is a choreographic ritual consisting of preparing and serving Japanese green tea and matcha along with traditional Japanese sweets. This should do justice to the bitter taste of the tea. Preparing tea at this ceremony means focusing on the predefined movements. The whole process is not about drinking tea, it’s about aesthetics. The cup of tea is prepared from the heart.
